Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 1.71% or 0.41 points to trade at 24.36 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 1.14% or 1.20 points to end at 106.65 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.96% or 1.15 points to 121.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 2.21% or 0.250 points to trade at 11.075 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.84% or 0.73 points to end at 38.98 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 1.52% or 0.505 points to 32.810.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 62 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.85 to $1258.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $51.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1044, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.9038.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 97.61.
